Mission Statement:
The Sabbatical Leave Committee provides information on sabbaticals to faculty and makes sabbatical related recommendations to the Chancellor. The committee reviews applications for and reports of sabbatical leaves and forwards recommendations to the College Presidents and the Chancellor based on the merits of the submissions. The committee encourages faculty to participate and offers mentoring to faculty for modifying proposals and reports to meet established standards for quality, appropriateness, and benefit to the Colleges and its students.
Article 12 of the contract between the Chabot-Las Positas Faculty Association and the Chabot-Las Positas Community College District sets forth the criteria and procedures by which faculty members can apply for a sabbatical leave. The Sabbatical Leave Committee is established in the contract between the Faculty Association and the District.
